
Project Overview
This project involved creating an interactive Spotify Wrapped-esque dashboard for all music lovers and users. It provides insights into Most Played Songs/Albums/Artists, Play lengths, reasons for start and end play, etc. And it even provides the user the ability to preview the songs while on the dashboard or follow a link to Spotify website to play the track in full.
Challenge
The client needed a way to visualize complex sales data from multiple sources in a single, intuitive dashboard that could be used by executives and sales managers alike. The data was stored in different systems and formats, making it difficult to get a holistic view of performance.
Solution
I developed an interactive Power BI dashboard that integrates data from Spofity for a given user. Using JavaScript, I retrieved the links to the tracks, their album images, and their actual track durations. I implimente all these in the dasbhoard and added a music preview pane (using HTML).
Results
The dashboard has become an essential tool for the company's decision-making process, resulting in a 15% increase in sales team efficiency and helping identify underperforming product categories that were subsequently optimized, leading to a 8% revenue increase in those categories.
